Cleaning White Lettering on Your Tyres

White lettering looks great on tyres, especially off road tyres but can get scuffed or dirty. How do you get it back into top shape?

The lettering is pretty tough. It’s not paint but actually white rubber that is applied in the sidewall during tyre manufacture – so it’s pretty tough.

Start with a good clean – use a scrubbing brush to clean the tyre sidewalls with detergent to remove all the dirt. If the lettering is stained, use very fine sandpaper to rub off the top layer off to bring the lettering back to its bright white glory. Just a couple of rubs will do the trick.
